Westminster was a 9th Circuit Appellate decision, as in federal court (thx Ken Landon) California is often called the "Left Coast" because of it favoring the Democratic Party, but it has not always been that way, nor arguable an apt descriptor even today. The Golden State had a tumultuous time getting to this political status. California has determined and been affected by national politics of both parties and sides of the political spectrum.
