Bahamas to Revisit New Cruising Fees

The Bahamas Government recently announced they are going to take a look at the new cruiser fees put in place on July 1, 2025. These fees have been widely criticized as excessive and likely to do great harm to the marine tourism sector. While we don't know exactly what will happen, I highlight three areas that warrant attention that impact the cruiser community. These are the fishing fees, length of the cruising permit and immigration issues, and the burdens placed on boats transiting through the islands on their way to and from the Caribbean.
