Shri. Sanjiv Sanyal's College Visit to The Madras Sanskrit College 17/02/2023

Shri. Sanjiv Sanyal, Member of the Economic Advisory Council of The Prime Minister of India, Visited The Madras Sanskrit College on 17/02/2023. The visit was about half an hour in our college's auditorium followed by his visit of the Kuppuswamy Sastri Research Institute (KSRI). The Principal of The Madras Sanskrit College gave a welcome address, right after the Rig and Yajur Veda prayers performed by our college's lecturers. After that Mr. Ramesh Mahalingam, a Trustee of the College honored Mr. Sanyal. The Trustee of the college gave a brief introduction about the college's Digital Campus. In his chief guest's address, Mr. Sanyal emphasized the point that in order for the nation to get the full benefit of the great ancient culture of India, a lot more work needs to be done in the field of Sanskrit, especially in decoding and understanding ancient manuscripts. After a Sama Veda chanting done by our college's lecturer, Hon'ble Justice Prabha Sridevan proposed a vote of thanks. Former principal, Mahamahopadhya Dr. R. Krishnamurthy Sastrigal graced the event with his presence and Mahamahopadhyaya Dr.Mani Dravid anchored the gathering.
