Hey gang! After getting hit with some snow overnight and feeling a little snowbound today, I decided to create this video, which is a lesson idea I've had on the backburner for a while and decided to finally add to the mix on the channel and keep the LNL guitar party going - so let's dive in! This lesson revolves around what the name of this series implies - playing with chords (or "Chordplay"), which is one of my favorite things to do with music and a guitar in my hands. As much as I love working on soloing, licks, scales, and technique, I also enjoy experimenting with chords and chord progressions, which is a surefire way to develop original music, new ideas for songs, chord-based exercises, and more! This lesson features an assortment of ideas/approaches for experimenting with chords, including modifed chord fingerings, finding common tones between chords in a progression, recycling chords/ideas to create new material, changing notes along different strings of a chord shape fingering, adding dissonant chords/tonalities to chord progressions, and much more! Needless to say, if you're a viewer that asked for more creative-minded lessons, a player looking for some new chord-based ideas to discover, a guitarist wanting insight into experimenting with chords, or maybe you just wanna learn a few new chord moves - this lesson is totally for you!
