Town of Clarkstown Dedicates Lenox Avenue in Congers in Honor of Congers FD Firefighter George Wohl

It was a solemn but proud day in Congers as the Town of Clarkstown dedicated Lenox Avenue in honor of Congers Fire Department Firefighter George Wohl. On December 13, 2003, George was tragically injured while responding to an emergency. He was a lifelong resident of Congers and a 34-year member of the Congers Fire Department. His father, sons, brother, and nephew all served in the fire department, and his wife, sister-in-law, and nieces served in the Ladies Auxiliary. For generations to come, people will drive down this road, children will ride their bikes, and all who pass will look up and see the name of George Wohl and be reminded of someone who always put others before himself.
