Voices from The Circle | Black Women Leaders Reflect on “Give to Gain” | International Women’s Day

Black women lead, build and uplift communities across the UK every day. Yet the pathways to leadership are often shaped by barriers, expectations and sacrifices that are rarely spoken about openly. For International Women’s Day 2026, members of The Circle Network — a space created for Black Women Leaders and Black Girls to breathe in, learn from one another and simply be — came together to reflect on this year’s theme: Give to Gain. In this conversation, Black women share their honest reflections on what it takes to show up as leaders: the quiet giving, the resilience, the pressures, the sacrifices and the power of community that allows us to continue. Despite the challenges, Black women continue to show up for each other, for their communities and for the generations coming behind them. This is Voices from The Circle.
