Vedadri is a village in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located on National Highway 9 in Jaggayyapet mandal of Vijayawada. This place is about 10 kms from Chillakallu, which is on National High way No-9, from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. It is one of the villages in the mandal. The village is one of the religious destination for Hindus, with the shrine of Lord Laxmi Narasimha Swamy on the banks of River Krishna. In this place Lord exists in five forms, different form each other. They are known as Jwala, Saligramha, Yogananda, Veera and Lakshmi Narashimar. The temple has Raja Gopuram of five tiers to east and west side. The lower portion of Dwajasthambam is seen inside the mandapam. There is Artha mandapam and Garbha graham. Chechu Lakshmi and Rajya Lakshmi sanctums are there. West side Gopuram is facing River Krishnaveni.  Here in the River we see Narashima Swamy in the form of Saligrama. We find steps leading to Sikaram where we can see Jwala Narashima Swamy. About 5 kms away there is Garudathri where Lord Vishnu has incarnated himself as Veera Narashimar. As per Brahma purana Somakasura took the Vedas from Lord Brahma, who approached Lord Vishnu to help him in Saving the Vedas.Then Lord Vishnu killed the demon Somakasura in the form of Mastya Avathar and brought the Vedas back . Then Vedas thanked Lord Vishnu in human form and requested Lord to stay back on their head. Lord agreed to fulfill their wish, after Hiranya Samharam. Lord said he would stay here in Five Types of Moorthy. He asked Veda Purushas to stay here as Saligrama Mountain, on the bank of the River Krishna. He said he has granted a boon for River Krishnaveni to allow her to pray and worship Him everyday. Lord said wishes of Veda Prussia’s and River Krishnaveni will be fulfilled simultaneously. After Hiranya Samharam, Lord Narasimha swamy stayed back on the Vedadri Sikara as Jwala Narasimha Swamy and fulfilled Veda Purusha’s wish. Brahma requested Jwala Narasimha swamy to stay in Sathya lokam as Saligrama Narasimha Swamy. Lord went to Sathya Lokha with Brahma.  Even before Lord Brahma offered his worship to Lord in Sathya Lokha, fire took place. So Lord Brahma brought Saligrahma moorthy to the River Krishnaveni and erected the Saligrama Moorthy on Saligrama Mountain.Thus the wish of Veda purusha’s and River Krishnaveni was fulfilled simultaneously.
