The field for Los Angeles Mayor is now set - Mayor Karen Bass facing a list of some three dozen challengers in her bid for a second term. Among those challengers, L.A. City Councilmember Nithya Raman, an 11th hour entrant into the race, her entrance called the "plot twist shaking L.A." by Politico. Raman, a graduate of Harvard and MIT, was first elected to council in 2020, she was a one-time ally of Mayor Bass, but now says that Los Angeles is "not making progress." As the campaign heats up, Raman joins Cher Calvin and Micah Ohlman to discuss the state of the race, her affiliation with the "Democratic Socialists of America," solving homelessness, ICE raids and sanctuary city policies, public safety, and more.
