Youth, Politics & Tolerance - Public Lecture

Keynote Speaker, Mujahidul Islam Jahid Trainer and Freelance Designer IDEA Bangladesh, a cognisance oriented institution, which have organised it's first public speaking conference today. Today's discussion was about "Youth politics and tolerance " and the keynote speaker was Mujahidul Islam Jahid who attempted to put forward his thoughts about these contemporary and significant aspects. Though these are quite distinctive aspects, our speaker had tried to accumulate and interconnect " youth, politics and tolerance " with each other which can assist to draw proper scenario about psychological social and political phenomena. Youth, a young person between adolescence and maturity, undoubtedly a significant span of life when person attempt to construct something inconceivable being optimistic and less burdened with the past failures Politics which is the way of life, explained distinctively according to the perspectives.Tolerance is something about respect, acceptance and adaptation through the diversified perspectives of others. There's a model "Intercultural sensitivity " which was constructed by Milton Bennett. He told about two different stages about experiencing differences- Ethnocentric stage and ethnorelative stage.Ethnocentric Stage when individual is experienced with denial, defence and minimisation and in Ethnorelative stage, individual get experienced with acceptance adaptation and integration. Our speaker had raised questions about the necessity and urgency of youth in Bangladesh politics. He had depicted questions about " why politics and tolerance should be interconnected? Why tolerance is required in the present societal perspective? What is tolerance in different perspectives? What are socio-political reasons for intolerance ? So it's our responsibility to find out what should be done and why? What is rational and why?
