I have found two advertisements for Talking Heads' show at The Showplace that say the show will be held on October 7th (one of them is used in the thumbnail of this video). This performance at The Showplace is another great one. It's a shame that David's vocals are so buried in this recording. He does a wonderful ad-lib near the end of The Book I Read at 9:03, but unfortunately, he's barely audible. He similarly does a really wild ad-lib during Happy Day at 15:01. There are some monitor issues during the show, though, as David asks someone to check the monitor just after The Book I Read. David gets a bit frustrated with this; right as the taper shuts off the recorder after Happy Day, David begins to say that they won't continue playing if the monitor issue isn't resolved. 00:00:01 - 01.
