This is Coil Wars, brought to you by OhmBoy Josh and Dwayne Rambo! Weekly challenges will eliminate competitors one by one until only one remains, and is crowned The Coil Wars Champion! This week the results are in for The Clapton Coil Tribute Challenge. Two judges made up the panel this week, including @mind_forge and @squirmingcoils. After we take a look at the Clapton Coil entries from our Warriors we’ll talk about the Greatest Challenge of All. And then we’ll take a look at the challenge that lays ahead of them, The Hybrid Coil. The Hybrid Coil we are going to make today consists of a Fused Clapton segment, a Staggered Fused Clapton segment, and a Five Core Alien Wire segment, and a single straight wire wrap. *************************************** NOTES ON THE HYBRID COIL: Wire Chart https://blog.unkamensupplies.com/2014... 1. The formula I present in the video has a GRIEVOUS error. My apologies. To calculate the outer diameter of the given segment, it is 2 TIMES the core wire diameter PLUS 4 TIMES any outer clapton wrap TIMES Pi. In the video I say it is 2 TIMES both. For this build it’s not a huge deal… for certain builds it can make all the difference. 2. I use a 4mm bit to demonstrate this build. The formula I present can work for ANY internal diameter bit. 3.
