This video describes the use of the new generation 10K cutter (10000 cuts/min) for operating a case of retinal detachment with large tears. This cutter is extremely effective in clearing the vitreous very close to the retina with our causing inadvertant breaks due to its bevel shape as well as proximity of the cutter port to the tip of shaft of cutter. Moreover the high speed cut rate makes it extremely safe.
