Hellaro, directed by Abhishek Shah, is a groundbreaking Gujarati film set in the 1970s. The story unfolds in a remote Kutch village, where patriarchal traditions suppress women. It follows a group of women who find solace and liberation through Garba, a traditional dance form, defying societal norms. The arrival of a drummer, Mulji (Jayesh More), becomes a catalyst for their secret rebellion. Hellaro has won the "Best Feature Film" award and "Special Jury" award at the 66th National Film Awards.
