The name Budapest is a combination of two cities – Buda (west of river Danube) and Pest (east of river Danube). The city offers you beautiful architectures and castles, romantic promenade, delicious cuisines, fun ruin bars – and all of that for a reasonable price! Things to not miss in Budapest 1. Cruise the Danube at Night when the entire city is lit How to reach Budapest You can arrive at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport by plane. This is located 16 km southeast of the city center of Budapest. To get to the city center, you can either take an expensive taxi or take the budget friendly public transportation. Getting around Budapest Option 1 : Budapest is a totally walkable city so the best way to get around the city is actually by foot. Option 2 : Public transport (bus, tram, metro) - A one day unlimited travel pass costs 1650 HUF. Alternatively you can purchase single tickets for each connection at the vending machine for 350 HUF. Best time to visit Budapest Spring (April and early May) or late November(Christmas markets and lights) would be the best time to visit this beautiful city Entrance fees (per person) for the attractions 1.
