Hello, here's a real time drawing video of me sketching out a portrait. Pick up a pencil and a sketchbook and come draw along. :) The total duration was more than 20min as I rambled on quite a bit and I also messed up the recording as well. During the day when I was drawing this for the first time, for some reason my phone didn't capture the whole video. So at night I decided to redraw the same reference photo. I do think the second time it turned out better so I included both footage. If you want to just watch the second version, skip to 10:53. To break down the steps: 1. Hold pencil loosely and sketch out rough boundaries 2. Capture direction of face and facial expression 3. Add shading 4. Add details - this is usually when I feel the drawing should take on a life of its own. Sometimes if I don't have enough time, I would just call it done. 5. Emphasis on darkest / lightest areas 6.
