🎖️ Honor of the Bayonnaise (Rock Metal) – Official Track 🎖️ A sonic tribute to the 24-gun French corvette Bayonnaise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_... Lyrics: "It was the winter of Seventeen nighty eight. The sea was rough, the wind was sharp. A single French frigate patrolled near Île d'Aix And the Royal Navy came into view." Upon the waves of the Atlantic cold, The Bayonnaise stood firm and bold. Twenty-four guns aligned with pride, Republican hearts, fire in their stride. With tricolor flying at the mast, Richer gave orders, steady and fast. She split the sea without regret, Each sailor sworn, their duty set. From the west, the Ambuscade came in view, Larger, faster, with a seasoned crew. Thirty-two guns of British steel, She moved like thunder, poised to kill. But on the French deck, not a soul did shake, They loaded powder, they’d not break. Gunports wide, tampers tight, Waiting for the flash of fight. Fire to starboard, hold the line! Outgunned, outmatched, but never resign! Glory flies with the tricolor high, For France we fight, for France we die! The enemy fired, her cannon roared, Timbers split, our mizzen soared. But the Bayonnaise turned and struck, Her shots rang out with battle’s luck. Smoke and fire across the sea, Richer shouted, “Aim steady and free!” Ropes snapped, the sails did tear, But not a soul gave in to despair. They came in close, line abreast, We charged the guns, no time to rest. Fifty yards—prepare to ram! Hooks and axes, slam by slam! The hulls collided, men leapt high, Sabers out, a battle cry! The boarding party stormed the deck, Blood and fire, no time to check. Fire to starboard, the hour is now! Victory carved with sweat on brow! Against the odds, but hearts of flame, The Republic fights in Freedom’s name! Steel met steel, the decks ran red, The English reeled, their captain bled. From mast to keel, the Bayonnaise pressed, Every blow with iron blessed. The British guns were silenced fast, As Frenchmen stormed from fore to mast. And when the Union Jack fell low, We raised our cheers in victory’s glow. Fire to starboard! Let all remember, This day burned into France’s ember! From cannon smoke and sabers drawn, A legend on the sea was born! "The Bayonnaise, with fewer guns and fewer men, Took the Ambuscade in open sea. Aboard her decks, the world saw proof That courage writes our destiny."
