The world of social media has a vast horizon, leading to the possibility of having the world as a whole on display with the click of a single fingertip. It has taken up a significant aspect in all our lives and is a part of our daily routine, but with the use of social media comes great responsibility. Avivan Yasin, the first Kurdish YouTuber with a medical degree, does not just use her platforms to let her viewers peek into her daily life but also shares medical advice and fashion inspirations. This year, she joined us on stage and enlightened the audience by explaining what an influencer is and how their actions and reactions impact our mindsets. The Internet can be unhealthy if we follow the wrong people and look up to them. Influencers are those we choose as our role models and are those people we feel comfortable believing what they share with us, which is exactly why Mrs. Avivan shares how misleading some influencers can be and how we can carefully pick out people we can actually trust to follow. A 25 year-old who was born in KRI and holds degree medicine, she has been working as a blogger in the field of medicine and fashion for more than 3 years. Throughout the evolution of social media, its variety of platforms have continually changed in response to user behavior and expectations. social media channels offer influencers different ways to create, publish, as well as engage the audience.
