Major emergency services response as children fall through frozen lake

Emegency services rush to reports of people falling through ice on frozen #lake. Multiple emergency resources were dispatched after 999 calls were received of young people falling through a frozen lake. Firefighters, the Police and Ambulance service have all been working at the scene of the serious incident at Babbs Mill Park, Fordbridge Road in #Kingshurst, #Solihull. The youngsters, thought to be primary school-aged, are believed to have been playing on the surface when it cracked. A cordon was established across the lake and a number of people have been pulled from a lake and are being transported to hospital. They are believed to be in a critical condition. Unconfirmed reports suggests passers by got some of the children out of the freezing water out whilst emergency responders also went into the ice cold water and rescued others. One eyewitness said “I had never seen anything like this. I counted more than two dozen emergency response vehicles and those are just the ones that were marked. There have been lots of rumours swirling around locally.” Another witness described seeing a child playing before the ice cracked. Adding later “I was walking with my dog and have seen them pulling the young kids out, and doing CPR on the the side of the lake; there was so many emergency services there.” More details we receive them.
