Nearly fifteen years after the publication of the album Gaïa (Brume Records, 2006), which expressed a notion of hope despite an alarming observation of degradation of our environment and forms of life that inhabit it, “Anthropocene” this time comes with a dark and defeatist look at the future of the world as we know it. The brutal changes in climate in recent years, sterilization of soils and seas, mass extinctions of living species, significant modification of ecosystems ... reinforce the veracity of this recent concept: we are in the Anthropocene era. Appalled by humanity's stubborn refusal to react actively, to limit our footprint and even accept the reality of its harmful impact, LITH exposes throughout the eight pieces of the album a multitude of concepts gathered under the “Anthropocene” neologism. The tracks are linked around a fusion of industrial music with heavy, distorted and syncopated rhythms, urban music with bass music accents, enhanced by tribal percussions, squeaky bass and ethereal or throbbing electronic strings. This is a new evolution of LITH which has always been able to create a hybrid and contemporary music, at the borders of radically different styles. --------------------------------------------------------------------- LITH revient avec son nouvel opus “Anthropocene”, abordant un thème récurrent dans l’œuvre du projet, celui de l’action destructrice de l’humanité à l’encontre de la biosphère.  Près d’une quinzaine d’années après la parution de l’album Gaïa (Brume Records, 2006), qui exprimait une notion d’espoir malgré un constat alarmant de dégradation de notre environnement et des êtres qui le peuplent, “Anthropocene” porte cette fois-ci un regard sombre et défaitiste sur l’avenir du monde tel que nous le connaissions. Les changements brutaux du climat ces dernières années, la stérilisation des sols et des mers, les extinctions massives d’espèces vivantes, la modification importante des écosystèmes… renforcent la véracité de ce concept récent : nous sommes à l'ère de l’Anthropocène. Atterré par le refus obstiné de l’humanité à réagir activement, à limiter notre empreinte et même accepter la réalité de son impact néfaste, LITH expose tout au long des huit morceaux de l’album une multitude de concepts réunis sous le néologisme anthropocène. Les titres s'enchaînent autour d’une fusion de musique industrielle aux rythmes lourds, distordus et syncopés, de musique urbaine aux accents bass music, rehaussés de percussions tribales, basses grinçantes et nappes électroniques éthérées ou lancinantes. C’est une nouvelle évolution de LITH qui a toujours su créer une musique hybride et contemporaine, aux confins de styles radicalement différents.
