Being from Alaska everyday life can be a lot less aesthetic than somewhere in the lower 48... Random things pop up like the need to shovel, letting your car warm up for a minimum of 15 min, and many other random situations that come with living in the arctic, kind of further away from 'Societal norms". There are many more things that are just everyday that people who don't live here would not understand, but I think that is a big part of what makes it so special to live here! Yes is can be very hard at times from bitter temperatures, severe weather, but it truly makes it worth it seeing the beauty that is in all of it, the supportive loving community and the incredible creation that exists in my own backyard.
