December 31st of 1983, New Years Eve 40 years ago, a writer/film maker by the name of Carole Langer would be the first to give the world a glimpse into the lives of four small children from the Edenwald Houses in the Bronx. Her coverage and many articles years later would shine a light on the horrors these four kids endured in the care of their parents. It would also should the absolute failure of child services when it came to their protection, which would later lead to the tragic slaying of five year old Adam Mann. When these children needed protection the most, they were abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Those sworn to protect them did no such thing.
