Quarantine Fishing Special: Float Tubing Newport Harbor

Today we launched our float tubes in Newport Harbor to do some spottie fishing. We mainly focused on throwing tailspins and had a pretty successful trip with close to 20 bass and some unusual bycatch. Thanks for watching! We started fishing around the boat moorings in the middle of the channel as the tide was coming in. We had some success around the boats, including one specific boat that was stacked with spotties, and kicked out 5 fish and over 10 bites. Once the tide moved in, we transitioned into the docks where the bite was a little slower, but we were still picking off fish. The hot bait today were small tailspins, with grubs and Warblades getting bites as well. We caught a total of 15 spotties, 3 halibut, sand bass, and a small bat ray.
