In response to the recent shooting of a stray dog in Gangtok’s Kazi Road, a group of dog lovers took to the streets on Sunday, organizing a protest rally from Zero Point to MG Marg in Gangtok. The dog was fatally shot on July 19, 2024 at Kazi Road. The tragic incident has sparked outrage among animal welfare advocates in the State. The protest was led by members of ‘People For Animals’ and ‘The Guardians, Sikkim’, two organizations dedicated to protecting animal rights in the state. These groups have been actively seeking justice for the stray dog, having filed an FIR with the Sadar Police Station.
