The Flagstaff Star Party joins with Lowell Observatory on September 28 at 8 pm PDT for virtual, interactive stargazing right before the on-site star party at Buffalo Park (http://www.flagstaffdarkskies.org/the.... We will be broadcasting live from Lowell’s Giovale Open Deck Observatory, where astronomer Dr. David Koerner and cultural astronomer Dr. Danielle Adams will guide viewers through beautiful and awe-inspiring views of Saturn, Jupiter, star clusters and gaseous nebulae, and many other wonders that Flagstaff’s dark autumn skies have to offer. Along the way, they will talk about both modern astronomy and the heritage of Arabian astronomy that is present in our modern star names. After this amazing celestial showcase, viewers can then request to see objects of their choice in the night sky for viewing through the GODO’s 14" PlaneWave CDK telescope. Tune in to make your request on the live chat! This event was made possible by our Lowell Observatory members and donors.
