Frank, a 62 year-old retired American felt like he was "waiting to die" in LA. He had all the material things, and achieved success in his executive careers working for Nike, American Express, and other companies, but he just felt lonely. When he decided to move to Vietnam he met more people in 1 year than he had the last 10. Frank is also investing in Vietnam - and particularly Da Nang, as he is optimistic about the future of the economy in the country. Having lived in Asia beforehand for over 20 years, he feels confident about his decision to move abroad and live in Da nang. Now Frank volunteers teaching English, Chinese, discussion groups, hanging out with friends, and of course the cost of living is much lower.
