I wanted to get through the last rank of Platinum and up to Diamond, so I turned to my old favorite Esper Control deck. It got me there with an impressive 6-1 run, including perhaps the best game I ever played. It was a match where I was on the ropes against Esper midrange the entire game, facing down lethal threats multiple turns in a row, and at one point even bringing up the “Concede” button. But sometimes, clever play, perseverance, and some good old fashioned luck can pull through even the bleakest moments.
