DELHI POLICE Dated: 22.02.2025 PRESS RELEASE A SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE OF PS UTTAM NAGAR, DELHI SOLVED BY AGS, CRIME BRANCH.  The main accused has been arrested in murder of Dhamar @ Firoz Khan, a member of the Vicky Takkar gang.  The accused had been evading arrest for the past 10 days. INTRODUCTION: In a major breakthrough, a team of AGS, Crime Branch led by Insp. Gulshan Yadav, AGS, Crime Branch, successfully apprehended the main suspect, Sonu, in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Sonu is accused of brutally murdering Dhamar @ Firoz Khan, by smashing his head with a large concrete block. The victim, Dhamar @ Firoz Khan, was a member of Vicky Takkar gang. With Sonu’s arrest, the investigation into FIR No. 77/2025, dated 11.02.2025, under sections 109(1)/3(5)/103(1) BNS, PS Uttam Nagar, has been successfully solved. GIDT OF INCIDENT: On February 10, 2025, complainant Rahul, a resident of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, reported an incident that occurred around 10:45 PM while he was at home with his wife. They heard the sounds of a quarrel coming from the ground floor. When Rahul approached the stairs, he witnessed three boys violently assaulting Dhamar @ Firoz Khan. When Rahul attempted to intervene, one of the attackers threatened him, warning him to stay away. The three boys then dragged Firoz Khan out into the street, where they continued to beat him with sticks. Later Sonu retrieved concrete block and struck Firoz Khan on the head, inflicting fatal injuries. Following the assault, the attackers fled the scene. Rahul immediately called the police, and the PCR staff quickly shifted the injured victim to DDU Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, after 2-3 days, Firoz Khan succumbed to his injuries. As a result, an FIR (No. 77/2025) was registered on February 11, 2025, under sections 109(1), 3(5), and 103(1) of the BNS at PS Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. This incident has severely disrupted the peace and harmony of the area, leaving local residents horrified. INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: A team led by Insp. Gulshan Yadav, comprising SI Chetan, SI Pawan, HC Arvind HC and Badri Prasad, under the close supervision of ACP Naresh Kumar was constituted by the undersigned to nab the criminals who brutally killed Firoz @ Dhamar. The team carefully analysed CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas. Using local intelligence, they identified one of the suspects as Sonu. SI Pawan Kumar and HC Arvind worked tirelessly, tracking the suspect through over 200 CCTV cameras across several kilometers in Delhi and Ghaziabad. They also scrutinized CCTV footage, CDRs, and IPDRs from around 100 mobile numbers connected to the suspect's family, friends, and associates. SI Pawan and HC Arvind were dedicated to the investigation for 10 days, and their persistence paid off on 20.02.2025, when they received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the wanted criminal Sonu, who had been involved in a murder case and was believed to be hiding in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Acting quickly, the team traveled to Etah, Uttar Pradesh, where they conducted further investigations to determine Sonu’s precise location. A trap was set, and Sonu was successfully arrested. During interrogation, Sonu confessed that after committing the murder, he fled Delhi and moved through various states to avoid capture. After ten days on the run, he eventually settled in Etah, UP. INTERROGATION: Accused Sonu revealed that the deceased, Dhamar @ Firoz Khan, was a notorious criminal in their neighbourhood who frequently harassed his sister. Despite multiple warnings, Dhamar remained unrepentant. Concerned for his sister's reputation, Sonu felt he could not approach the local police for help. As a result, he resolved to eliminate Dhamar once and for all. On February 10, 2025, Sonu, along with his associates, devised a plan to kill Dhamar. They brutally assaulted him with sticks. Following the beating, Sonu retrieved a large piece of concrete and struck Dhamar on the head to ensure he was dead. After committing the crime, they fled from the scene. PROFILE OF ACCUSED: The accused, Sonu, age 27 years old, resides in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. He completed his education up to the 4th standard at a government school. Currently, he works as a driver, presently he was driving vehicles for local residents of Uttam Nagar. CASE WORKOUT: 1.
