Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary | Amid the recent developments in West Bengal, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court, but during the hearing the courtroom witnessed a massive crowd and heavy disruption. Despite repeated appeals by the judge, the crowd did not disperse, forcing the judge to leave the courtroom, and the hearing was adjourned until January 14. It is alleged that those creating the disturbance were linked to organizations affiliated with the Trinamool Congress. These incidents have sparked a wider debate on whether democratic institutions are being allowed to function independently in West Bengal. Earlier on Thursday, a major political controversy erupted during an ED raid in Kolkata. While the ED was conducting searches at the residence and office of Pratik Jain, Director of I-PAC and head of the TMC IT Cell, in connection with the coal scam case, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at the spot.
