Episode 2: Into the Backcountry - Atlantic Creek, Hawks Rest, and Woodard Canyon Join us for Days 2 and 3 of our epic Headwaters Pack Trip through the Teton Wilderness! This is the second installment of our three-part series documenting our August journey through some of Wyoming's most remote and beautiful country. Starting from our first camp about 12 miles in, we push deeper into the backcountry, making our way to Hawks Rest before establishing our third camp at the base of Woodard Canyon. As we travel further up the South Fork, the signs of grizzly activity become impossible to ignore—we follow fresh tracks for miles, a constant reminder that we're in true wild country. The journey takes a tense turn as wildfires burn throughout the Thorofare. With smoke visible and the wind unpredictable, we hold our breath hoping the fires don't shift our direction.
