JESUS SAVES (Sa Maanyag nga Tingug) • JESUS SAVES (Sa Maanyag nga Tingug) Kalantahong Balaan (KB) No. 89 Seventh Day Adventist Hymnal No. 340 SDAH Philippine Edition No. 225 Author Priscilla Jane Owens (1829–1899) Music William James Kirkpatrick (1838–1921) Bible Verse “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 “Jesus Saves” is a triumphant gospel hymn written by Priscilla Jane Owens, with music composed by William J. Kirkpatrick, one of the most influential composers of nineteenth century gospel music. The hymn boldly proclaims the heart of the Christian message: salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Written during a period of revival and evangelistic zeal, the song was designed to be sung with joy, confidence, and conviction as a public declaration of faith. This Hiligaynon version, Sa Maanyag nga Tingug, faithfully preserves the hymn’s evangelistic spirit while clearly exalting the name of Jesus. Each verse calls believers to proclaim the good news with strength and gladness, invite sinners to come to Christ, and rejoice in His victory over sin and evil. Sung with passion and assurance, this hymn continues to inspire worshippers to lift their voices and boldly declare that Jesus saves.
