🚨 Welcome to my new weekly series, '𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’! 🚨 Today's topic is Tenancy Deposit Protection!💸 Here are some of my highlights you need to know from this episode: ✅ If a tenant on an assured shorthold tenancy pays a deposit, it must be protected in a government-approved scheme. ✅ The court can order a landlord to repay up to 3X the amount of the original deposit. ✅ There are three government-registered schemes in England and Wales eligible to protect a rental deposit. ✅ From the 1st June 2019, the deposit amount which can be taken has been capped up to 5 weeks.
