Take a few minutes to learn more about one of Fresno Rotary's Finest Members! Blair Looney is the President & CEO of the Better Business Bureau, Serving Central California & Inland Empire Counties. Mr. Looney began his career with Better Business Bureau in January of 2001 as a member of the Board of Directors, and from 2005-2007 he served as Chair of the Board. He became a Board Member of the Council of Better Business Bureaus in 2005, and from there he was selected to his current role as President & CEO in January of 2011. Prior to his career at BBB, Mr. Looney started working for Charles Looney Advertising after his graduation from the School of Journalism at Fresno State. In 1987, he became the second generation owner when he purchased the agency from his father. In September 2008, Mr. Looney formed a strategic alliance with Thielen Ideacorp to consolidate the two firms and was the Senior Account Manager with the agency. During the 21 years Mr. Looney owned Looney Advertising, he worked in nearly every capacity of the agency business including account management, creative director and media director. In his position as agency owner, he expanded the firm with a staff to provide regional marketing management for the Central Valley Toyota Dealers Association, Central Valley McDonald’s Operators, Community Hospitals of Central California, three GMC Truck Dealers Associations, Longs Drugs, Food-4-Less, and Gottschalks. He earned the agency’s first American Advertising Federation “Best in the West” award (the predecessor to the Addys) with recognition for the creative work behind the campaign changing the name of the 9-store retail chain, The Pant Factory to William Carol. In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Looney was also a three term President of the Business Associates of the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno, the Better Business Bureau of the San Joaquin Valley, and the Fresno Ad Club. He was also a board member for the Fresno Metropolitan Museum, the Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce, the Fresno Zoological Society, and he is a life member of the Rotary Club of Fresno. Blair is a Fresno Fellow and a Paul Harris Fellow. He will be the President of the Rotary Club of Fresno in the year 2022-2023.
