PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VIDEO'S COMMENTS AREA TO VOICE YOUR OPINION OF THE POLITICS SURROUNDING WHAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE DONE TO CORRECT FLOODING ISSUES. THIS VIDEO IS MERELY A MEMORIAL TO THE DEVASTATION CAUSED LAST SUMMER. THANK YOU. Music: 'The Change' - Garth Brooks A collection of pics I took around Miami on July 3 and July 4, 2007. I took and own all the rights to all the pics except for the arial photos. The Neosho River rose to 29.25 feet at Stepps Ford Bridge in Commerce, OK, which is 15 feet above flood stage. It was 3 feet higher than the horrible flood of 1986, and less than 5 feet from the flood of 1951, which was caused by a broken dam. 2007 marked the greatest natural disaster in Miami's history (caused by the rain alone). Of the 13,500 residents of Miami, over 1,000 were displaced, over 550 homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed, and the damage to the community and NEO A&M College was over $42 million. Less than 6 months later, Miami was hit with an ice storm that left a majority of the city and surrounding area without power for up to two weeks. 2007 saw 3 federally declared natural disasters in Miami.
