S22EP22 | SPAIN We Found a real gem in BURGOS 🇪🇸

From our last stop in Valencia de Don Juan we head further east towards Burgos - a city in Castilla-Leon situated in the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela, which still preserves important vestiges of its medieval splendour. We show you a typical couple of travel days in our motorhome as we make our way to France via the north of Spain. A forecast for some bad weather along the northern Spanish coast make us take a more direct, inland route. After weeks of constant overcast conditions we're also trying to work out a solution to increase our solar storage capacity by utilising our e-bike battery. The convenient location of Amazon lockers in Burgos allowed us to get the necessary parts for this experiment. The city, which was the capital of the unified kingdom of Castilla-Leon for five centuries, boasts a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture: the cathedral of Burgos, declared World Heritage. On the foothill of the fortified Castle Hill, you will find the best views of the city and the medieval quarter nearby. Aside from a visit to the historic quarter, strolling along the banks of the Duero and Arlanza rivers is a delight. The municipality of Burgos provides a dedicated motorhome area with services for free within walking distance or a short cycle from most points of interest.
