After a grueling 24 hours or so spent on Contest Mode and walking away with nothing, I decided to at least make my first official clear of the Dungeon my solo flawless run. Most of that time in the final encounter was just wiping to DPS checks. Coming back to the dungeon about 16 hours after Contest is over and immediately going into a solo flawless run felt good. Details and timestamps below. 00:00-05:50 - Defeat the Baran Imperium Forces 05:51-09:20 - Transition 1 09:21-27:30 - Harrow, Dredgen-Apprentice (Unoptimized 4 Phase) 27:31-37:50 - Transition 2 37:51-41:00 - Adjusting Loadouts 41:01-1:09:15 - Dredgen Sere 1:09:16-1:10:00 - Emblem and Triumphs This was my first all-around go at the dungeon with a Solo-Flawless Attempt. I hadn't prepped or changed too much from the Contest Mode as far as loadouts had gone, which coulda helped me save some time and closed down on some damage. First Encounter's threats are the Cabal Pods that drop the Behemoths after killing what I'll refer to as the "lobsters". My only resets for the Solo Flawless Happened because of this (first 2 attempts). Beyond that, it was just patience and utilizing the Arc Buddy / Helion Build. Harrow I wasn't optimized at all for. I felt like playing it a bit safe and going with a standard Finality's Augur / Mint run. I also didn't extend out DPS as I could've. Wasn't quite expecting it to be as "swift" getting to DPS either. I did have a Wolf's Bane from Contest clear of this encounter, but I elected not to use it just in case some shenanigans happened. Dredgen Sere also wasn't bad. I was a bit overconfident in pushing Damage threshold to see if I could even factor for a two-phase... Just wasn't set up for it and dealt with lightning, essentially elongating the encounter. Overall, this is likely one of the easiest dungeons in recent times for solo flawless. I do like it, and feel as though it has a decent length for the experience. Not as good as Vesper's Host by a longshot, nor even Sundered Doctrine as far as the experience goes... But, I'll run this more than I'll run Sundered. Pivot - It is frustrating to have fallen at the final boss with over 10 hours logged at it on contest mode... Rant Incoming What becomes frustrating isn't so much the DPS check, but really just down to the entire team composition. It has become clearer than ever that this isn't something you can just run with just a single person looking to have a more "casual" experience. Everyone needs to be on top of it across the board and be ready to adjust. This is more for the hardcore players for sure, but not impossible. What this contest mode taught me is that I need to run it with those who share that same vision and adaptability. It takes one member in a team of three to cause it all to fall short. Sometimes things happen... Other times, it's because another person is dragging down the team. Balancing out between friends you play with versus those who have that competitive edge matters here, and this dungeon on contest nearly broke me. Not because of the difficulty or the final boss DPS check... But that I can't play with all the same people I used to in this type of content anymore... People who have done Day 1 Raids with me and the previous two dungeons, both through triumph as well as falling at the final hurdles in raids like Crown of Sorrow, Scourge, Crota, etc.... This experience brought out so much anger and stress that I felt sick. At the end of the day, it is a game. Albeit frustrating, I shoulda stepped away a bit more. It's fun when it's fun... When it's not, it truly is not. Rant Over
