A production by Mimir LLC, Japan (www.mimir.world) To celebrate International Tea Day on April 21, "Kamaya Tajimi," a multi-purpose facility in Honmachi, Tajimi City, unveiled its new tea ceremony room, "Kamawa-an." The room is a unique blend of old and new materials, and it hosted a commemorative tea ceremony on the same day. Visitors, dressed in traditional kimonos, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of the tea ceremony. Now you can visit this unique spaces in your VR headset. The event was organized by the building's owner, Takaya Kato, 44, who is also a contract manufacturer of electric kilns for potters. He will join you in this immersive experience. The tea room was constructed using heat-resistant bricks and Mino washi paper, both of which are materials used in the kiln manufacturing process. The renovation also incorporated waste materials from the refurbishment of the 145-year-old building. We hope this short glimpse will inspire you to visit Tajimi, a pottery city in Japan with an ancient tradition. In the tearoom, the centrepiece is the chawan, or tea bowl. It place a central role in the intriquate tea ceremony in Japan.
