This presentation is about the amendment of pleadings. it may be plaint or Written statement filed in the civil suit. we file plaint under order 7 Rule 1 of CPC and written statements under order 8 rule 1of CPC.In many occasion we feel that we need to amend certain portion of the said plaint or Written statement or modify or alter some portion of our pleadings. Order 6 rule 17 of CPC provides for the amendment of our pleadings. we can make an application along with an affidavit. in the affidavit we should say that why we need to add or delete words If the amendment sought is in confirmity or consistent with the plaint or written statement, the courts normally will allow.If the amendment is about to introduce a new case by virtue of amendment or already admitted facts are being denied by amendment,amendment will not be allowed.
