Suicide Safety Planning Demonstration Anna and Amar

This video is a demonstration of how to develop a suicide safety plan. The social worker is played by Dr. Amar Ghelani, Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) with the University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. The client is Anna, a 20 year old straight, cis gender female of mixed ethnic background who studies psychology at a Canadian university. This is her second counselling session with Amar and she has just completed a suicide risk assessment. In this segment, she identifies her early warning signs, coping skills, supportive people, and things she can do to keep herself safe when feeling suicidal.
