Bite after bite after bite! This was my first time fishing at Barkers Creek Reservoir, and I was NOT disappointed! This lake is stocked by Fisheries Victoria with trout, murray cod, and yellowbelly, but the usual suspects carp and redfin can also be found in here. I hooked my first fish before I had even clipped the bells on, and the action just kept coming. I may have only ticked of 2 of the 5 species on offer, but I caught so many fish that I lost count. It was an amazing afternoon until someone chose to setup right next to me, despite there being about 200m of clear shoreline to choose a spot. I always try to be respectful of other fishermen, especially if they were there first. That guy didn't seem to care, saying that "he's there every day" - thinking he owns that specific spot or something!
