Heat Tragedy on the Homestead

I wanted to share with you all the tragedy of this heatwave we are having and some of the affects it's having on the gardens, and a few other things. If you recall I purchased a shade cloth for the greenhouse, we put it up mid May... it wasn't even up 2 moths and now it's deteriorated. It wasn't the heat causing an issue it's the weave of the fabric. It's garbage. I've had Shade cloth for 18 years and it looks as new as when I bought it. The difference is one is a true shade cloth fabric. My advise is get the better quality, save the receipt & where & when you purchased it just in case you do have a failure. I normally do but didn't this time around and learned a lesson. This shouldn't have happened. We are trying our best to keep what veggies we have growing & our fruit trees alive during this heatwave. It's a battle that I worry about everyday. We haven't had any real rain in over a month, it's discouraging to say the least. Please remember to keep water bowls out for the insects & other critters, they too need refreshing water to survive. We'll get through this trying time.
