Hebrews 3:12-15 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. The "we are made partakers of Christ" expression here is referring to the future, eschatological state of participating in Christ by being steadfast to the end and is distinct from the present knowledge and participation in Christ. It is not a denial of present partaking. Likewise the passage is in the context of taking heed in the case that you depart from the living God, suggesting that it is possible to be drawn away. In other words, one can fall away from Christ. Needgod.net, as Protestants do, exegetes the Scriptures wrong. By his own standard he cannot know that he is saved because he does not know whether or not he will maintain in communion with God, likewise the Bible does teach people can fall away. Even if we grant that Judas is not example (if not, how is it that he needs a replacement in Acts? Further, if one wanted another example, one could also look at Demas in Paul's letters) we do not need an explicit particular of someone falling away when the possibility thereof is listed here and numerous other times in other Scriptures (especially Paul's letters). NeedGod.Net is simply incorrect on his assessment of Romans 4 and Genesis 15. The promise to Abraham made in Genesis 15 is a continuation of that of the promise made in Genesis 12, meaning that they are the one and the same promise, as Hebrews 6 confirms. His reading begs the question of what being "fully convinced" means, presupposing that it is a merely rational, propositional assent to a certain idea.
