How To Fix A Broken Belt Buckle Prong

In this video, I’m going to show you how to fix a broken belt buckle prong. I am replacing the part with an old tent stake. I cut it down to a more manageable size and shape it with a file. To match the existing prong, I bend the metal using a pair of scrolling tongs and my vice. Once done, the prong will be locked in and shouldn’t fall off of the bar. To remove the rust and make the finish match, I take it to the wire wheel. Once the buckle is all finished as desired, it will need to be attached back onto the belt. Mine was sewn shut, but other belts have buttons to fasten the buckle onto the leather.
