NIAN Føroyar 2018 Nólsoy

During the second week of July of 2018, artists from 9 countries met and worked together in the Faroe Islands. The purpose of the stay was to learn from locals about the Faroese culture. The artists used the local knowledge as an inspiration for a series of performances in different locations in the Faroe Islands. The artists participating are: David Sebastián Lopez Restrepo, Colombia Sunniva Gudmundsdóttir Mortensen, Faroe Islands Búi Rouch, Faroe Islands Joakim Stampe, Sweden Chuyia Chia, Malaysia Ursula Sepponen, Ålands/Finland Stein Henningsen, Svalbard, Norway Sarah Gerats, Svalbard, Norway Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, Denmark Mauritz Tistelö, Sweden Peter Rosvik, Finland Kaisa Luukkonen, Finland Ali Al-Ameri, Irak Wathiq Al-Fatlawi, Irak NIAN Føroyar 2018 was organized and curated by Performance Køkkenet, as part of the project NORDic Islands Action in Nature, organized by COMLAB Communication Laboratory Sweden. In collaboration with Arctic Actions Svalbard and Åland Actions. This event was supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers, Pro Helvetia, Mentamálaráðið, Atlantic Airways, and G! Festival.
