Epilepsy affects more than 3.4 million people in the United States. One in ten people will have a seizure some time in their life, and one in twenty-six will develop epilepsy during their lifetime. 470,000 children in the U.S. are living with epilepsy. This November, join us during Epilepsy Awareness Month for a conversation with Dr. George Thomas, Neurologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Geisel School of Medicine. Dr. Thomas will talk about the different seizure disorders within an epilepsy diagnosis. You’ll also learn about the causes of these seizure disorders and various treatments, including medications and surgical options. "Understanding Epilepsy" is presented as part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health’s Healthy Living Series. This event was recorded via Zoom on November 17, 2021.
