He Started playing Oud at the age of 7. Since then, he went through perfecting his performances earning him along list of awards and impeccable reputation at an international level, among his awards: First prize in 2009\2022 at the international Oud competition in Lebanon. Second prize in 2023 at the international Oud competition in Saudi Arabia. Adnawi performs as a soloist and as part of ensembles and orchestras in some of the major international events and stage. Adnawi utmost interest in world music has led him to collaborate with a plethora of artists from around the word and from different background. His passion creating new music and new ways of improvisation and compostion for the Oud and other instrument by incorporating novel techniques, scales and improvising ideas from other world music traditions. Adnawi’s performances are famous for their experimental rhythms and sounds that engage the audience in new musical experience every time. His music is especially gratifying to introduce the oud an instrument mostly known in middle east and the Arab world to the audience around the world. Kenan Adnawi joined the higher institute of music in Damascus Syria in 2003 where he studied Oud with the expert Askar Ali Akbar before he graduated in 2008. Adnawi has accompanied many well known artist in the middle east like Marcel Khalife and his ensemble and joined his Arabian concerto with Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the world renowned maestro Lorein Maazel at the kennedy Center in Washington DC, theater des Champs-Elysees in Paris, La Scala in Milan andTheatro Massimo in Palermo-Italy. Kenan Adnawi had a master degree in contemporary music improvisation from new England Conservatory Boston USA in 2017.while he was in the USA he participated in many music festivals and joined some projects. He released 2 music albums in 2014 Aura and Watar in 2023. He participated and led many workshops mainly in Lebanon, Syria and USA. He performed as a soloist Marcel Khalife Oud concerto for the first time with Qatar philharmonic orchestra in 2016 and with the Lebanese philharmonic orchestra in. 2016. He performed as a soloist and composer at the Bolshoi theater in Moscow love dance for Oud and orchestra in 2023. Has performed as a soloist with the Syrian national symphonic orchestra in Damascus and other places in 2021/2022. A solo performer at the international Oud Forum in Al Fujairah UAE 2024.
