For Those Who Are In A Rush: I like to use the summer months to get work done instead of wasting my time This is because the summer is a prime time to explore my interests To do so, I have to concoct a good plan for my summer I use the planning technique shown in the 12 Week Year to plan The 12 Week Year takes advantage of the fact that people will work harder under deadline pressure Since the 12 Week Year is a lot shorter than the traditional year, by default, there is a higher pressure to reach your goals and get stuff done First, you need to identify a long and short term vision Within that vision, break them down into goals and their keystone actions You’ll also want to identify why you want to hit these goals These goals should be specific and realistic Then, you can start to plan You’ll want to take each goal and it’s keystone actions and put them into your week Find what daily or weekly actions you need to take Your plan should also cover potential choke points and how you will overcome obstacles Every week you should set aside time to look at your progress Within that time, you should look over the grand plan, look for any breakdowns, and plan out what you will do next week to continue making progress You should also reflect and score your week according to your lead and lag indicators Lead indicators are the actions you are performing to reach your goals, and lag indicators are how far you are from reaching your goals My long term vision was to make YouTube my job, get good grades, speak a few different languages fluently, and be fluent in JavaScript and possibly Python My short term vision was to concentrate on YouTube, JavaScript, and Swedish The keystone actions were to improve 1% every video, finish a JavaScript course, and finish a Swedish course That became spend 1 hour a day on YouTube, and half an hour daily on the JavaScript and Swedish courses I set up a table and reflection template in Apple Notes to track my progress Then, I started planning my weeks on an hourly basis My schedule for the summer is pretty much the same everyday to take full advantage of routines Then, I just have to carry it out But it’s not that easy, so I’m creating a four video series on how to plan, stay motivated, stay productive, and books to read during the summer Thank you guys so much for watching, hope you have a safe and fantastic day, and see you guys in the next video. Bye!
