Welcome to this weeks online worship from the parish of Dunkeld, Church of Scotland. This week our minister Rev Fraser Penny continues our series on the 'I AM' sayings. When Jesus stood before Pilate on trial, Pilate asks of Jesus ‘what is truth?’ This is a question that despite all our advances - we are still asking today. It is so painfully relevant at the moment too in the world situation we face. Putin can call his war a ‘special military operation’ but it still involves killing and destruction and in anyone else’s language, that’s called war. Jesus says ‘I am the way, the truth and the life.’ The truth is not just something we believe in the abstract, the truth is the way, the way of the cross he chose to take. And if we want to accept his truth, then we follow his way. This week Karen finally worked up the courage to use a drone in the good weather - so our service is packed full of drone footage of Dunkeld and the local area. Enjoy it while it lasts - she is quite sure she will crash it soon! With music from Pete Clark, Hazel Murch, Karen Kelman, Janet MacSween and the virtual choir. ************* Support for Ukrainian Refugees ************** We have all been moved by the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine and there has been a number of people asking how they might make a monetary donation locally to support the people of Ukraine. There is now a local organisation - Tayside & Strathearn Help for Ukraine (T&SH). This organisation is based in Errol, Perthshire, and is doing a fantastic job. It is where we have been taking all the generous donations that have been given locally. They are collecting, sorting and transporting all the goods to Poland. One of the biggest costs they have is the transport and any money donated will help greatly with this. Below is the website address which will take you to their page where you can donate if you wish. https://tash4ukraine.weebly.com/ The church will announce any upcoming dates for donations to be handed in once we have coordinated with T&SH for Ukraine. Many thanks to all those who donated goods last week, we were able to send five car loads and a truck load to Errol last week. This week online there will be another service of prayers and reflections on our YouTube channel to help us pray and acknowledge the horrific suffering in Ukraine.
