3 STUDIO LIGHTING & PHOTOGRAPHY BEHIND THE SCENES with GOBOs and Gels | phloshop Todays video has us playing a lot with colours and patterns. The first part is about using the camera's white balance to add a lot of warmth to the images. We achieve this by cranking our Kelvin temperature all the way to 10,000. The next thing is add a light behind our subject and pointing upwards. This light has a blue gel attached to it and this helps fill the entire area behind our subject with a blue colour. Now our second light is coming through the Godox projection unit with a window gobo inserted and finally gelled orange. Our aim with that is just to add colour contrast in the backdrop and make the set more interesting. Our last and final light is our main light which is in a small beauty dish and aimed down at our subject. this light has no colour gel on it and it also angled downwards so we do not any light reaching our background and contaminating the colour play we spent time setting up.
