For thousands of years not much about death has changed. Someone dies, then they are buried or cremated. But in the 21st century, with population growth, land prices going up, and globalization, we need to innovate and introduce new options around death. We'll travel from the corpse hotels of Tokyo, the mausoleum skyscrapers of Sao Paolo, to the dead body compost center in Seattle, to learn what entrepreneurs around the world are doing the change our ideas around death. And we ask the question, which innovations will be right for Moscow? Or will new innovation come from within Russia itself? Caitlin Doughty - mortician, activist, and funeral industry rabble-rouser. In 2011 she founded the death acceptance collective The Order of the Good Death, which has spawned the death positive movement. Her first book, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, was a New York Times best-seller. She lives in Los Angeles, where she runs her nonprofit funeral home, Undertaking LA.
