The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: A dynamic weekend awaits eastern South Africa as a low pressure system shifting eastward and unleashing widespread showers and thunderstorms over Limpopo Province, Mpumalanga Province, and northern KwaZulu-Natal Province, while lighter showers are likely in the west and south on Saturday. The South African Weather Service has issued Yellow Level 2 impact-based warnings: severe thunderstorms may bring heavy downpours, localised flooding, damaging winds, excessive lightning, and large amounts of small hail across Limpopo Province, Mpumalanga Province, northeastern KwaZulu-Natal, and central to northern Gauteng Province. Additionally, damaging winds and waves are forecast between Plettenberg Bay and Durban, posing risks of disruption to ports and harbours and potential danger to vessels in the affected coastal areas.
